Official UAE Representative of the Cannes International Advertising Festival

The Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival is the largest gathering of worldwide marketing and advertising professionals, as well as the most prestigious advertising awards. Each year, about 8,000 delegates from the advertising and allied industries attend this event to celebrate the crème de la crème of creativity in all major media, discuss industry issues and network with one another. Over 16,000 ads from all over the world are showcased at the festival and a unique programme of high-profile seminars, organized by some of the biggest names in the industry, is also presented. Winning companies receive the highly coveted Lion awards, honouring the most creative TV/cinema, print, outdoor and online advertising, as well as the best media and direct marketing solutions.

Motivate Val Morgan is the official United Arab Emirates’ representative of the Cannes Lions Advertising Festival. As the official representative, we host the following activities annually:

Cannes Lions Screening

A screening which showcases the Bronze, Silver, Gold and Grand Prix winners in the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival Film Category

UAE Young Creatives Competition

Creative teams (composed of an art director and a copy writer aged 28 and below) representing an advertising agency in the UAE compete for the chance to represent the country in the International Young Creative Competition held in Cannes.

Roger Hatchuel Academy

One UAE National student is selected and sponsored to attend the one-week Roger Hatchuel Academy in Cannes where the international students of advertising, marketing and communications learn about trends, attend high-profile seminars, screenings and discussions and are tutored by some of the world’s leading industry figures.

Screen Advertising Worldwide Association (SAWA)

The Screen Advertising World Association (SAWA) is the worldwide trade body of Screen Advertising Companies and Associated Companies that have relationships with and supply services to the Screen Advertising Industry. The aims of SAWA are to develop international standards and practices for Screen Advertising and to improve communication between Screen Advertising Companies around the world to facilitate the easier buying of the cinema medium for advertisers.
